STEM Challenge
15/12/2017

A group of 30 enthusiastic year 7 pupils undertook a STEM challenge delivered by STEMfirst. The event was funded by South Ribble Borough Council, Leyland Trucks and other business partners in the South Ribble area to mark 120 years of manufacturing locally.

Pupils were made aware of the importance of STEM both inside and outside of school. They had the opportunity to meet local STEM ambassadors who work in our local community during the event. Five teams of 6 pupils went head to head to compete in an array of fun and interactive challenges. Pupils developed their skills as they brought ‘real world maths into the classroom’.

All pupils demonstrated resilience which was evident in a close battle to win the title of overall champion. Tricky Trucks were finally crowned the winners.
