Thank You - Remembrance Day 2018
16/11/2018

To bring remembrance into the classroom, Academy@Worden have been involved in the Royal British Legion’s ‘Thank You’ movement. This movement encourages students to pay tribute to individuals’ huge contribution both during the war, and also for how they helped shape the world after the war ended.

We hope that getting pupils involved in this movement helps to bring the First World War to life for pupils, piecing together the fine golden threads that link their life today back to the First World War generation. To mark this centenary year, pupils in the Maths department at Academy@Worden have been crafting beautiful poppies out of hundreds of recycled plastic bottles in order to create a memorial for those that served, sacrificed and changed our world.
