20/11/2018

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Gardner has won the 'Teacher of the Year' Award at the Educate Awards 2018.

Headteacher Mr Catherall said, "I can't think of anyone who deserves this award more than Mrs Gardner. It's a fantastic way to recognise 35 years commitment not only to teaching English, but to Worden. She has touched the lives of hundreds of young people and been a positive influence on so many of them and their families. It was a pleasure to be with Mrs Gardner and her family during the event at the cathedral and to see her reaction when the winner of 'Teacher of the Year' was announced. We are all absolutely delighted for her."

Schools and colleges from across the region were honoured at the prestigious Educate Awards ceremony on Friday 16 November. The awards, in partnership with Copyrite Systems and Ricoh, is now in its seventh year and is the largest education awards in the North West. Over 600 guests gathered for the Educate Awards ceremony held at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, hosted by broadcaster Simon ‘Rossie’ Ross.

Kim O’Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, says: “It’s been an exceptional year of entries, so many congratulations to all the winners, runners-up and finalists for 2018.

“We are so proud to host an event which champions the creativity, diversity and dedication of teachers, school support stars, schools and colleges in the Liverpool City Region, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester.”
